Summary From The Book:
Is love enough to make a person feel fulfilled and happy?
Meet Popoy and Basha, two lovers who believe they are destined to be together forever. Practically inseparable, everyone around them knows there can be no Basha without the ever strict Popoy. Nor would Popoy exist without his damsel, Basha.
But when one of them realizes their feelings for each other can no longer make them feel content, they resolve to search for themselves outside of the safety of each other.
Based on the 2007 Filipino romance film produced by Star Cinema, starring Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz and directed by the award-winning director Cathy Garcia-Molina, this is the official novelization of the cult classic film that defined a generation's views on love and heartbreak.
Will Popoy and Basha find happiness apart, or will they learn to give love One More Chance?
My Thoughts:
I already watched the movie before reading this novel that was also written after the movie. The novel consists story scenes not included in the screenplay.
I already know what to expect on the story and how it would end but being able to read Basha and Popoy's thoughts on the book made me understand their character and personality better.
The book's point of view shifts from one character to another but mostly either its on Popoy or Basha. My favorite character would still be Basha, somehow her feelings, dreams and insecurities area the same as mine. Her whole character is realistic. I am sure that anyone could easily relate to her story and difficulties.
The best part for me is the complete story on how it really ended compared to just Popoy showing up at Basha's work by the end of the movie. I can feel the refreshing start from their conversations. Like they are two people who just met each other.
